Ariel Petracca L.Ac., M.Om., Dipl.Ac. – Burnsville Clinic
Ariel Petracca received her Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the World Medicine Institute in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is nationally board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine(NCCAOM) and is licensed through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and the State of Hawaii. Prior to completing her Master’s Degree, Ariel studied Pre-Medicine at the University of Minnesota, and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Roseville, MN. She has worked in traditional clinics, community-style clinics, and a health care cooperative and has clinical experience in musculoskeletal issues, pain management, stress management and relaxation, addiction recovery and detoxification, women’s health, and traditional beautification techniques. She is certified by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association, and has volunteered at the Salvation Army Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center in Honolulu, HI, as well as the VA Veteran Stand at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis, MN. Ariel is fluent in Spanish, which she learned while teaching English in Spain, and studying in Costa Rica. She has had the privilege of sharing her knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine with people from a variety of cultures around the world.
Ariel’s knowledge and passion for wellness is illustrated by her treatment style in which she guides her patients to move toward a balance of health. Along with acupuncture, she helps them heal step-by-step through diet and lifestyle modification, preventative methodology, and patient education in order to achieve lasting improvement. She has found this combination very powerful in restoring the body’s own natural healing ability.
Ariel enjoys an active lifestyle including Zumba classes, two-step dancing, walking the lakes, snowboarding and sailing, as well as her daily yoga practice. She believes food is the first line of medicine; she is passionate about cooking and choosing foods that are individually appropriate for herself, her loved ones, and her patients alike.
